IN EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA ...WASHINGTON COUNTY AT 724 PM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IN NORTH WASHINGTON COUNTY NEAR HAMBURG STATE PARK MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. A STRONG UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE OVER THE TENNESSEE VALLEY IS ASSOCIATED WITH A COLD FRONT ALREADY IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA LATE THIS AFTERNOON. THE FRONT WILL PUSH THROUGH NORTHEAST AND CENTRAL GEORGIA DURING THE REMAINDER OF THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING. INSTABILITY AHEAD OF THE FRONT IS JUST MARGINAL BUT MOIST INFLOW INTO THE BOUNDARY COULD SUPPORT SEVERE THUNDERSTORMlS THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS. THE MAIN THREAT WILL BE DAMAGING WINDS.
