IN CENTRAL GEORGIA ...DOOLY COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL GEORGIA ...MACON COUNTY AT 430 PM EDT WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER OGLETHORPE. THIS STORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO CLIMB INTO THE MIDDLE AND UPPER 90S ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN SECTIONS OF THE STATE AGAIN THIS AFTERNOON. THESE TEMPERATURES COMBINED WITH HUMIDITY LEVELS AROUND 50 PERCENT WILL CAUSE HEAT INDICES IN TH 105 TO 110 DEGREE RANGE. AT 240 PM THE PEACHTREE CITY RADAR SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME WITH HEAVY RAIN EXTENDING FROM NEAR ACTWORTH TO CARROLLTON...THEN EAST TO HAPEVILLE AND PEACHTREE CITY AND ATLANTA. THE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT ABOUT 20 MILES AN HOUR. COBB COUNTY 911 REPORTED VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS...GUSTY WINDS AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING STRIKES.
