THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  800 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...HAYS COUNTY
 
AT 703 PM RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN FROM SAN MARCOS TO KYLE MOVING
NORTH AT 10 MPH. HEAVY RAIN WILL AFFECT PORTIONS OF HAYS COUNTY FOR THE
NEXT HOUR. SAN MARCOS POLICE HAVE REPORTED SOME FLOODING OF ROADS IN SAN
MARCOS.  HEAVY RAIN WAS ALSO REPORTED NEAR HIGHWAY 123 AND I 35.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY
TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT TO ESCAPE
RISING WATER DURING THREATENING RAINS.
 
AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS.  TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS FLOODED ROADS.  IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE
IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY.
