000 TTAA00 KBUF 221429 SVRBUF NYC055-073-NYZ523-524-221530- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY 1030 AM EDT SAT JUN 22 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO NY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1130 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN WESTERN NEW YORK ...MONROE COUNTY ...ORLEANS COUNTY AT 1025 AM...BUFFALO DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A CLUSTER OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER LAKE ONTARIO JUST A FEW MILES OFF THE ORLEANS COUNTY LAKESHORE. THE STRONGEST STORM WAS 5 MILES NORTH OF LYNDONVILLE. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST SOUTHEAST AT 50 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL MOVE ACROSS ORLEANS COUNTY BETWEEN 1030 AND 1100 AM...AND ENTER MONROE COUNTY BETWEN 1100 AND 1130 AM. SOME TOWNS IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS INCLUDE SUNSET BEACH AND KENDALL IN ORLEANS COUNTY...AND HAMLIN AND HILTON IN MONROE COUNTY. THESE STORMS MAY THREATEN THE ROCHESTER METRO AREA AFTER 1115 AM. SOME OF THESE STORMS MAY CONTAIN LARGE HAIL...GUSTY WINDS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS OF RAIN.
