NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY 845 PM EDT TUE JUN 4 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO NY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 930 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN WESTERN NEW YORK ...WYOMING COUNTY AT 840 PM...DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR ARCADE IN SOUTHWESTERN WYOMING COUNTY. THIS STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL BE AFFECTING THE TOWNS OF ARCADE...SMITHS CORNERS AND WARSAW. THERE WAS A REPORT OF 1/2 INCH HAIL IN CHAFFEE...IN EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN ERIE COUNTY NY. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH AND/OR HAIL 3/4 INCH OR LARGER.
