000 TTAA00 KBUF 082116 COR FFWBUF NYC029-063-073-082240- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLOOD WARNING CORRECTION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY 516 PM EDT THU AUG 8 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO NY HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING FOR URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 640 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN WESTERN NEW YORK ...NORTHERN ERIE COUNTY ...NIAGARA COUNTY ...ORLEANS COUNTY AT 510 PM BUFFALO RADAR DETECTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER NIAGARA AND ORLEANS COUNTIES AND DRIFTING SOUTH INTO NORTHERN ERIE COUNTY. THESE STORMS HAVE PRODUCED FLOODING IN NIAGARA COUNTY NEAR THE NIAGARA FRONTIER COUNTRY CLUB. SOME OF THESE STORMS MAY PRODUCE RAINFALL RATES OF 1.5 INCHES AN HOUR. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. MOVE TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
