FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL NOON EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

   ...ESSEX COUNTY...MIDDLESEX COUNTY...NORFOLK COUNTY

THE WARNINGS ISSUED LATE YESTERDAY HAVE BEEN CONTINUED THROUGH NOON
TODAY.
 
A NEARLY STATIONARY AREA OF RAIN OVER EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS INTO MUCH OF
SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE WILL YIELD ANOTHER ONE HALF TO 1.5 INCHES OF RAIN
BETWEEN 6 AM AND NOON.
 
MANY SMALL STREAMS WERE BANKFUL OR ALREADY IN MINOR FLOOD. THE FLOODING
SHOULD WORSEN A BIT THIS MORNING. ADDITIONALLY...THERE IS A DANGER THAT
EARTHEN DAMS MAY BREAK DOWN CAUSING FLASH FLOODING CLOSE TO THERE
LOCATION.
 
PONDING OF WATER ON AREA ROADS WILL CONTINUE THIS MORNING...IN LARGE
PART BECAUSE OF LEAF CLOGGED STORM DRAINS.
 
RAINFALL ACROSS EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS AND SOUTH CENTRAL NEW HAMPSHIRE
THROUGH 6 AM HAS TOTALED BETWEEN 5 AND 10 INCHES. THERE IS A CHANCE
THAT 1 OR 2 LOCATIONS COULD TOTAL AROUND 11 OR 12 INCHES BY THE TIME THE
MAIN RAIN PUSHES OUT OF HERE LATE TODAY OR THIS EVENING.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
