000 TTAA00 KALB 132119 FFWALB VTC025-140215- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBANY NY 518 PM EDT THU JUN 13 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY NY HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHERN VERMONT ...NORTHERN WINDHAM COUNTY AT 515 PM...DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR ESTIMATED THAT OVER 5 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THE VICINITY OF GRAFTON IN NORTHERNMOST WINDHAM COUNTY. THIS EXTREME RAINFALL IN COMBINATION WITH OVER 5 INCHES OF RAIN THAT FELL YESTERDAY HAS PRODUCED DISASTEROUS FLOODING. IN ADDITION... BETWEEN 600 AND 800 PM...MORE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED IN THE FLOOD AREA. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS REQUEST THAT ALL PERSONS NOT ENGAGED IN RESCUE WORK REMAIN OUT OF THE AREA. THE TOWN OF GRAFTON IS ISOLATED FROM OTHER COMMUNITIES BY THE FLOODING.
