EASTERN OKLAHOMA/NORTHWEST ARKANSAS THUNDERSTORM OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TULSA OK
600 AM CDT SAT JUN 10 1995

THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TODAY AND TONIGHT
ACROSS ALL OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR NORTHWEST ARKANSAS AND ALL OF
EASTERN OKLAHOMA EXCEPT MCCURTAIN COUNTY.

THUNDERSTORMS OVERNIGHT HAVE LEFT NUMEROUS OUTFLOW BOUNDARIES
ACROSS THE AREA. IN ADDITION...A COLD FRONT WAS LOCATED JUST NORTH
AND WEST OF THE AREA EARLY THIS MORNING. A WARM MOIST AIRMASS
REMAINS IN PLACE ACROSS EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
WITH DEW POINTS IN THE UPPER 60S TO LOWER 70S. THIS HAS KEPT THE
ATMOSPHERE UNSTABLE.

ABUNDANT MOISTURE WILL CONTINUE TO BE PUMPED NORTHWARD INTO THE
AREA THROUGH THE DAY PROVIDING FUEL FOR ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORM
DEVELOPMENT. THUNDERSTORMS WILL FORM ALONG THE EXISTING OUTFLOW
BOUNDARIES AS WELL AS THE COLD FRONT...WHICH WILL MOVE SLOWLY
SOUTHWARD DURING THE DAY. WIND FIELDS WILL NOT BE AS STRONG AS THE
PAST FEW DAYS...BUT SUFFICIENT INSTABILITY EXISTS SO THAT SOME
THUNDERSTORMS COULD BECOME SEVERE WITH LARGE HAIL AND STRONG WINDS
THE MAIN THREAT. IN ADDITION...VERY HEAVY RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE
WITH THESE STORMS.

THE THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER AND HEAVY RAINFALL WILL DIMINISH AFTER
THE FRONT PASSES TO THE SOUTH.

SPOTTER GROUPS AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCIES SHOULD REMAIN
ALERT THROUGH THE DAY AND INTO THE NIGHT.
