IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI ...EASTERN JASPER COUNTY...LAWRENCE COUNTY...NEWTON COUNTY AT 902 PM CDT...SPRINGFIELD DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FROM ABOUT 18 MILES NORTHEAST OF JOPLIN NEAR AVILLA TO 5 MILES EAST OF CARTHAGE TO 5 MILES SOUTH OF SENECA. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST-NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH. THIS LINE WILL EXTEND FROM THE MILLER-STOTTS CITY AREA TO NEAR FAIRVIEW BY 930 PM. THESE STORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HAIL UP GOLFBALL SIZE...WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.
