THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH/DURHAM HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  430 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
 
   ...PERSON COUNTY
 
AT 1120 PM EDT...PERSON COUNTY OFFICIALS REPORTED THAT SEVERAL ROADS IN
WESTERN PERSON COUNTY WERE CLOSED DUE TO FLOODING. WEATHER SERVICE RADAR
INDICATED SCATTERED LIGHT TO MODERATE SHOWERS CONTINUING IN THE AREA.
THE SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE WELL PAST MIDNIGHT.
 
FLOOD WATERS ARE HARDER TO SEE AT NIGHT AND MOST FLASH FLOOD
FATALITXIES OCCUR AT NIGHT.  AVOID DRIVING ACROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS.
WATER TWO FEET DEEP CAN FLOAT MOST CARS OFF THE ROAD.  REPORT
FLOODING TO LOCAL EMERGENCY OFFICIALS IMMEDIATELY.
