FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  215 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
 
   ...CENTRAL PERSON COUNTY
 
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AT 1 AM INDICATED THAT 2 TO 3 INCHES OF
RAIN HAS FALLEN DURING THE PAST THREE HOURS OVER CENTRAL PERSON COUNTY.
HEAVY SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE OVER THE AREA AND
FLOODING HAS BEEN REPORTED BY PERSON COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS.
 
THE NORTH FLAT RIVER AND DEEP CREEK MAY EXPERIENCE FLOODING WITHIN THE
NEXT HOUR.  ALSO PONDING OF WATER ON HIGHWAYS AND IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS
IS POSSIBLE.  PEOPLE IN THESE FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO
ACT QUICKLY AND MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
FLOOD WATERS ARE HARDER TO SEE AT NIGHT AND MOST FLASH FLOOD
FATALITIES OCCUR AT NIGHT.  AVOID DRIVING ACROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS.
WATER TWO FEET DEEP CAN FLOAT MOST CARS OFF THE ROAD.  REPORT
FLOODING TO LOCAL EMERGENCY OFFICIALS IMMEDIATELY.
