THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL NOON EDT
FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK
 
   ...EASTERN SUFFOLK COUNTY
 
AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS
 
 
AT 1115 AM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE
THUNDERSTORM IN COASTAL WATERS OFF LONG ISLAND. THIS STORM WAS MOVING TO
THE NORTH AT ABOUT 45 MPH AND WILL COME ONSHORE BETWEEN EASTPORT AND
WEST HAMPTON BEACH BY 1130 AM. IT WILL TRACK DUE NORTHWARD AND WILL BE
NEAR WADING RIVER AROUND 1150 AM. THIS STORM WILL PRODUCE WINDS IN
EXCESS OF 58 MPH...SOME DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND COPIOUS RAINFALL.
 
RAINFALL ESTIMATES OF BETWEEN 3/4 AND 1 INCH ARE POSSIBLE AS THIS STORM
MOVES THROUGH.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 58
MPH...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR
OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS.  HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO
