...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OXNARD HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD
WARNING FOR PEOPLE IN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY UNTIL 6 AM PST...

SULPHUR MOUNTAIN DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A LARGE AREA OF RAIN MOVING ACROSS
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, SOME OF IT WAS HEAVY AND SETTING OFF ALARMS FOR
HEAVY RAIN.  RADAR INDICATES AT LEAST 2 INCHES OF RAIN WILL FALL DURING
THE NEXT FEW HOURS, AND THAT ON ALREADY SOAKED TERRAIN, SO THAT STREAMS
AND RIVERS IN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY WILL RISE DANGEROUSLY THIS MORNING.

LOCATIONS MOST AT RISK FOR FLOODING INCLUDE THE SOLVANG AREA ALONG THE
SANTA YNEZ RIVER, AND OTHER SPOTS NEAR CANYONS OR STEEP TERRAIN.  THIS
SITUATION WILL LAST INTO THE DAY, ALTHOUGH HEAVIER RAIN SHOULD END BY
DAYBREAK, SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE AFTERNOON.

FOLLOW DIRECTIONS OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS OFFICIALS AND EVACUATE IF
REQUESTED TO DO SO. PERSONS LIVING IN OR BELOW THE WARNING AREAS SHOULD
BE PREPARED TO MOVE IMMEDIATELY, WITHOUT WAITING FOR INSTRUCTIONS, IF
HEAVY FLOWS OF WATER OR MUD ARE OBSERVED.
