THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX AZ HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 500 AM MST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
LOCATIONS...

IN NORTH-CENTRAL ARIZONA

  ...EXTREME SOUTHERN COCONINO COUNTY
  ...EXTREME NORTHEASTERN YAVAPAI COUNTY

THIS INCLUDES OAK CREEK CANYON AND SEDONA.

AT 150 AM...THE SEDONA FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTED THAT OAK CREEK HAD RISEN
1 FOOT SINCE 1 AM AT INDIAN GARDENS.  THE WATER LEVEL AT TLAQUEPAQUE HAD
REACHED 12 FEET AND WAS CONTINUING TO RISE.  SOME NEARBY AREAS WERE
BEING EVACUATED.

PHOENIX DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO DETECT A LARGE AREA OF MODERATE RAIN
COVERING MUCH OF CENTRAL ARIZONA...AND PERIODS OF RAIN...LOCALLY HEAVY
AT TIMES...WILL CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  DO NOT TRY TO CROSS FLOODED
HIGHWAYS. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.
