000 TTAA00 KCLE 091049 FFWCLE OHC043-093-091300- BULLETIN FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CLEVELAND OH 647 AM EDT WED AUG 9 1995 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING FOR SMALL STREAMS AND URBAN AREAS EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN OHIO ...ERIE COUNTY...LORAIN COUNTY AT 645 AM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR IN CLEVELAND INDICATED A CLUSTER OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAIN FROM JUST NORTH OF SANDUSKY ACROSS NORTHEAST ERIE AND NORTHWEST LORAIN COUNTIES. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 10 MPH. DOPPLER RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES INDICATED THAT BETWEEN ONE AND TWO AND HALF INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST ERIE AND NORTHWEST LORAIN COUNTIES BETWEEN 445 AND 645 AM THIS MORNING. A SKYWARN OBSERVER IN VERMILION REPORTED AN INCH AND A HALF OF RAIN BETWEEN 615 AND 645 AM. THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS THE AREA FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT ONE TO TWO HOURS...PRODCUING HEAVY RAIN WHICH WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS AND URBAN AREAS. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TvO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. GERARD
