THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  515 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA
 
   ...SOUTHERN FAYETTE COUNTY
 
AT 421 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS SHOWED A SEVERE
THUNDERSTORM OVER THE MILIPORT AREA OF LAMAR COUNTY. THE STORM WAS
MOVING EAST AT 15 MILES AN HOUR. WITH THIS PRESENT SPEED AND DIRECTION
THE STORM WILL AFFECT NEWTONVILLE AREA IN THE NEXT 30 MINUTES.
 
IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A
STRONG BUILDING.  DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN...
AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS.
STAY INSIDE AWAY FROM WINDOWS UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES
