1001 PM CDT SUN MAY 21 1995

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1100 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE NORTHEAST PART OF SOUTH DAKOTA
      BROWN...

   IN THE NORTH CENTRAL PART OF SOUTH DAKOTA
      EASTERN MCPHERSON...NORTHEAST EDMUNDS...

AT 1000 PM CDT...SEVERAL INTENSE THUNDESTORMS WERE MOVING EAST
THROUGH EASTERN MCPHERSON COUNTY AND INTO BROWN COUNTY. THE
MOST INTENSE STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR THE COMMUNITY OF WETONKA AND
PLAINVIEW COLONY IN MCPHERSON COUNTY OR 20 MILES NORTHWEST OF
ABERDEEN.  THESE STORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HAIL...LOCALLY
HEAVY RAIN AND DAMAGING WINDS.

THIS STORM IS MOVING TOWARD THE LONGLAKE COLONY.

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM...YOU SHOULD GET TO A
REINFORCED SHELTER.  A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCES DAMAGING WINDS
IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH...HAIL 3/4 INCH OR LARGER...DEADLY LIGHTNING
AND HEAVY RAIN THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING AREA.

REMEMBER...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE
TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING.  REMAIN CALM BUT BE
ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.

THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS STORM.  IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH...VERY LARGE HAIL
AND DEADLY LIGHTNING.  IF YOU AR>E OUTDOORS MOVE TO A REIFORCED
