SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  300 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI
 
   ...HANCOCK COUNTY
 
AT 230 PM THE MOBILE RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ALONG AND
NORTH OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 10 IN HANCOCK COUNTY. THE STORM WAS MOVING
TOWARD THE EAST-NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.
 
AT 220 PM THE SHERIFFS OFFICE IN HANCOCK COUNTY REPORTED A FUNNEL CLOUD
JUST NORTH OF INTERSTATE 10 NORTHWEST OF BAY ST. LOUIS.  THE FUNNEL
EXTENDED ABOUT HALF-WAY TO THE GROUND BEFORE RECEDING INTO THE CLOUDS.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55
MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER MONROE COUNTY ALABAMA...

AT 1220 PM THE MOBILE RADAR INDICATED A CLUSTER OF RAPIDLY DEVELOPING
THUNDERSTORMS NEAR FRISCO CITY ALABAMA MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHEAST AT 40
MPH.  THESE STORMS WILL PASS BETWEEN MONROEVILLE AND EVERGREEN WITH
STRONG GUSTY WINDS...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...HEAVY RAINFALL AND POSSIBLE
HAIL.   IF THE INTENSITY CONTINUES TO INCREASE A WARNING MAY BE REQUIRED
IN PORTIONS OF MONROE AND CONECUH COUNTIES BEFORE LONG.

FURTHER WEST...AN AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS IS DEVELOPING NEAR NEW ORLEANS
AND WILL LIKELY AFFECT PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI WITHIN AN HOUR
OR TWO.

THE ATMOSPHERE IS VERY UNSTABLE TODAY AND CONDITIONS ARE PRIME FOR
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS THROUGHOUT THE AREA.  RESIDENTS OF SOUTHEAST
MIS4SISSIPPI AND SOUTHWEST ALABAMA SHOULD REMAIN ALERT FOR WEATHER EVENTS
