THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LUBBOCK HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  345 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTHWEST TEXAS
 
   ...CROSBY COUNTY...GARZA COUNTY
 
...HEAVY RAINS DUE TO STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER GARZA AND CROSBY
COUNTIES...
 
AT 1245 PM CDT WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTHERN GARZA AND CROSBY COUNTY.  THE STRONGEST
THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED NEAR POST...WESTERN AND SOUTHERN CROSBY
COUNTY AND ALSO NEAR RALLS IN CROSBY COUNTY.  THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE
MOVING TO THE NORTH NORTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR.
 
RAINFALL ESTIMATES FROM DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED RAINFALL TOTALS OF 1-3
INCHES BETWEEN 1130 AM AND 1230 PM CDT.  ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL ONLY
AGGRAVATE THE SITUATION.  IF FLOODING IS SPOTTED MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN rA SMALL
