AT 230 PM BUFFALO WEATHER RADAR INDICATED SEVERAL SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
OVER CENTRAL CATTARAUGUS COUNTY NEAR ELLICOTTVILLE. THESE THUNDERSTORMS
HAVE HAD A HISTORY OF HEAVY RAINFALL AND POSSIBLE HAIL. MOVEMENT OF
THESE THUNDERSTORMS IS EAST SOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH.
 
 
 
 
BE ON THE ALERT FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY FREQUENT
LIGHTNING...STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.  LOCALLY HEAVY
RAIN MAY ALSO CAUSE DRAINAGE FLOODING.

     ...VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS IN THE WESTERN FINGER LAKES...

THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS HAVE RAPIDLY
DEVELOPED OVER THE WESTERN FINGER LAKES THIS AFTERNOON.  IN THE
TOWN OF CANADICE...A SPOTTER REPORTED ALMOST 1.75" OF RAINFALL IN
LESS THAN 30 MINUTES.  MARBLE SIZE HAIL WAS ALSO REPORTED WITH THIS
STORM.  THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 10 TO 15 MPH.

THE SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE VERY
HEAVY RAINFALL IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.  AS A RESULT LOCALIZED
FLOODING OF STREETS AND STORM SEWERS ARE POSSIBLE.
