KSZ013-014-015-016-062030- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TOPEKA KS 234 PM CDT THU MAY 6 1993 ...SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE ACROSS NORTHEAST KANSAS... AT 225 PM A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM NEAR MARYSVILLE TO 10 MILES WEST OF TOPEKA TO 27 MILES SOUTHEAST OF EMPORIA NEAR BURLINGTON. THE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH AND WILL MOVE INTO THE TOPEKA AREA BY 3 PM. BY 330 PM THE LINE OF STORMS WILL EXTEND FROM HIAWATHA TO 10 MILES WEST OF LAWRENCE TO GARNETT. HEAVY RAIN...DANGEROUS LIGTNING AND WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH WILL ACCOMPANY THE STRONGER STORMS. A TORNADO WATCH CONTINUES UNTIL 9 PM. LAPLANTE P
