THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A 
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  300 AM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN SOUTHWEST UTAH

   ...WESTERN WASHINGTON COUNTY

THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR WESTERN WASHINGTON COUNTY HAS BEEN
EXTENDED UNTIL 300 AM MDT THIS MORNING.

A STATIONARY THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WESTERN HALF OF THE COUNTY HAS
PRODUCED WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL.  AT 100 AM MDT RADAR
INDICATED THE HEAVIEST RAINS WERE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE
COUNTY...IN THE HEADWATER REGION OF THE SANTA CLARA RIVER.

LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL REPORT THAT THE SANTA CLARA NEAR ST. GEORGE
UTAH WAS RISING RAPIDLY AT THIS TIME.  BETWEEN THE CONTINUED RAINFALL
AND THE RUNOFF FROM THE HIGHER ELEVATION...FLOODING APPEARS IMMINENT
ALONG THE SANTA CLARA RIVER AND IT'S TRIBUTARIES OVER THE NEXT COUPLE
OF HOURS.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT.  IT'S
IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS SHOULD AVOID
CAMPING ALONG STREAMS OR CREEKS DURING THREATENING RAINS.
