IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI ...SOUTHERN STONE COUNTY A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN ARKANSAS REPORTED A TORNADO 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BRANSON. MOVEMENT WAS NORTHWEST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR...WHICH WILL BRING IT INTO SOUTHERN STONE COUNTY. THE COMMUNITIES OF LAMPE...KIMBERLING CITY AND REEDS SPRING ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM. TAKE SHELTER NOW. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS A BASEMENT. GET, UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAS FORMED OVER WESTERN MISSOURI...EXTENDING FROM NEAR NEVADA SOUTH TO JOPLIN THEN SOUTH INTO NORTHERN ARKANSAS. THE HEAVIEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE JUST NORTH- EAST OF JOPLIN AND ABOUT 40 MILES SOUTH OF JOPLIN. THIS AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING TO THE NORTH AT 30 MILES PER HOUR AND WILL CONTINUE OVER WESTERN MISSOURI THROUGH 400 PM.
