...TORNADO WATCH #219 IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM CDT SATURDAY MORNING FOR
   PARTS OF SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS...
...A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS
   TONIGHT...

AT 1030 PM CDT...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HAIL...WIND GUSTS TO 50
MILES AN HOUR...AND HEAVY RAIN WERE MOVING ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTH
CENTRAL KANSAS. THE STORMS WERE WITHIN A 40 TO 70 MILE WIDE AREA
EXTENDING FROM CONCORDIA SOUTH THROUGH MCPHERSON AND WICHITA...AND ON
ACROSS THE OKLAHOMA BORDER JUST WEST OF ARKANSAS CITY.

THE HEAVIEST RAIN WAS FALLING WITHIN A 15 MILE WIDE BAND FROM HUTCHINSON
SOUTH THROUGH WICHITA...AND ALONG INTERSTATE 35 INTO OKLAHOMA.

SOME DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS WITH SMALL HAIL AND 50 MILE HOUR WINDS
WILL BE MOVING ACROSS WESTERN COWLEY COUNTY UP UNTIL 11 OCLOCK.

THE THUNDERSTORMS BISECTING THE STATE OF KANSAS FROM NORTH TO SOUTH...
WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR...WITH RAINFALL MODERATE TO
HEAVY THROUGH MUCH OF THE AREA.

SOME SEVERE WEATHER HAS BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH THESE STORMS EARLIER THIS
EVENING....BUT AT THE PRESENT TIME THE MAIN THREAT IS THE HEAVY
DOWNPOURS...SMALL HAIL FROM PEA TO MARBLE SIZE...AND WINDS TO 50 MILES
AN HOUR.

KEEP IN MIND FLOODING IS ALSO A POSSIBILITY WITH THESE HEAVY RAIN PRODUCERS
AS THEY MOVE EAST INTO THE ARKANSAS RIVER BASIN AREA INCLUDING WICHITA.
SMALL STREAMS MAY FILL RAPIDLY AND ROADS MAY BECOME FLOODED QUICKLY. DO
NOT DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADS...THEY MAY BE WASHED OUT.
