THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN VICTORIA HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  315 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...S...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...JACKSON COUNTY...VICTORIA COUNTY
 
AT 1105 PM CDT VICTORIA RADAR SHOWS THUNDERSTORMS AND RAINSHOWERS
EAST OF A LINE FROM COLLEGE STATION TO CUERO TO ALICE.
THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE STILL MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 10 MILES AN HOUR.
 
STREET FLOODING IS OCCURRING IN VICTORIA AND EDNA. SEVERAL STREETS
ARE CLOSED IN BOTH CITIES. FM ROAD 447 IS CLOSED FROM NURSERY TO
MISSION VALLEY ALSO HIWAY 59 AT TELFERNER HAS WATER ACROSS TO ROAD.
 
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
