MNZALL-162315- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MINNEAPOLIS MN 520 PM CDT TUE JUN 16 1992 ...TORNADO PRODUCING THUNDERSTORM SOUTHWEST OF REDWOOD COUNTY... A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS OCCURRING OVER WESTERN PORTIONS OF MURRAY COUNTY NEAR THE TOWN OF SLAYTON AT 515 PM THIS TUESDAY EVENING. THE STORM WAS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH AND WILL LIKELY MOVE INTO EXTREME SOUTHWEST REDWOOD COUNTY BETWEEN 530 PM AND 6 PM THIS EVENING. THIS THUNDERSTORM HAS PRODUCED A TORNADO SOUTH OF CHANDLER ALONG WITH LARGE HAIL NEAR IOTA BOTH IN SOUTHERN MURRAY COUNTY. MNZALL-162345- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MINNEAPOLIS MN 550 PM CDT TUE JUN 16 1992 ...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MOVING THROUGH MURRAY COUNTY... AT 545 PM...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING THROUGH NORTHERN PORTIONS OF MURRAY COUNTY ABOUT 10 MILES NORTH OF SLAYTON NEAR THE TOWN OF CURRIE. THE STORM WAS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT NEARLY 35 MILES AN HOUR. THIS WOULD BRING THE STORM INTO SOUTHWEST REDWOOD COUNTY AROUND 6 PM. THE STORM PRODUCED A TORNADO NEAR CHANDLER IN MURRAY COUNTY AND NEAR THE TOWN OF IONA IN LYON COUNTY BETWEEN 5 PM AND 5 30 PM. INJURIES HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THESE TWO TOWNS. DAMAGE WAS ALSO REPORTED NEAR LAKE WILSON AT 5 40 PM. PERSONS IN WESTERN REDWOOD COUNTY SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF DANGEROUS WEATHER IN THE FORM OF STRONG WINDS...LARGE HAIL AND EVEN TORNADOES.
