THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIDLAND HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  915 PM CDT AND A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 715 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHWEST TEXAS
 
   ...REEVES COUNTY
 
AT 612 PM CDT...PECOS COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE REPORTED FLASH FLOODING
AND GOLFBALL SIZE HAIL IN THE CITY OF PECOS. GOLFBALL SIZE HAIL WAS
ALSO REPORTED WEST OF PEOCS COVERING THE GROUND. ALSO ONE FOOT OF
WATER COVERING THE GROUND WAS REPORTED IN SOME AREAS NEAR PECOS.
 
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING MEANS THAT A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IS
OCCURRING IN THE WARNED AREA WITH WINDS IN EXCESS OF 58 MILES AN
HOUR OR HAIL OF DIME SIZE OR LARGER. PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF A SEVERE
THUNDERSTORM SHOULD SEEK SHELTER IN AN INTERIOR ROOM AWAY FROM WINDOWS 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
