SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1115 PM CDT AND A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 115 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHWEST TEXAS
 
   ...HOWARD COUNTY
 
AT 1016 PM CDT...THE SHERIFFS OFFICE AND POLICE DEPARTMENT WERE
REPORTING GOLFBALL SIZE HAIL IN BIG SPRING. SKYWARN SPOTTERS ALSO
INDICATED RAINFALL RATES OF ABOUT 3 INCHES PER HOUR IN BIG SPRING.
 
IF IN A CAR WHEN FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...LEAVE THE CAR AND HEAD
FOR HIGHER GROUND. IT TAKES LITTLE RUSHING WATER TO SWEEP A CAR OF THE
ROAD.
 
A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.  REMEMBER
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES
WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING.  REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO
RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
