000 TTAA00 KLBB 120107 TORLBB TXC303-120200- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX 805 PM CDT THU JUN 11 1992 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LUBBOCK HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN NORTHWEST TEXAS ...NORTHERN LUBBOCK COUNTY AT 800 PM THE ABERNATHY FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTED A FUNNEL CLOUD ABOUT 4 MILES NORTH OF THE CITY OF ABERNATHY. WEATHER SERVICE RADAR ALSO INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO NEAR ABERNATHY. THE STORMS IN THE AREA WERE MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH. DO NOT USE YOUR CAR TO TRY TO OUTRUN A TORNADO. CARS ARE EASILY TOSSED AROUND BY TORNADO WINDS. IF YOU ARE CpAUGHT IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...LEAVE THE CAR AND GO TO A STRONG BUILDING. THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES ON THE SOUTH PLAINS ARE INCLUDED IN THE WATCH: BAILEY...LAMB...HALE...FLOYD... MOTLEY...COCHRAN...HOCKLEY...LUBBOCK...CROSBY...DICKENS... YOAKUM...TERRY...LYNN...GARZA AND KENT... AT 530 PM CDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS HAD DEVELOPED RAPIDLY OVER THE WESTERN HALF OF THE SOUTH PLAINS. THE STRONGEST STORM ON THE SOUTH PLAINS WAS LOCATED ABOUT 9 MILES EAST OF BROWNFIELD IN EXTREME EASTERN TERRY COUNTY.
