IN NORTHWEST TEXAS ...HALE COUNTY AT 710 PM CDT WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO BETWEEN EDMONSON AND PLAINVIEW IN NORTHERN HALE COUNTY. MOVEMENT OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AREA WAS TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES ON THE SOUTH PLAINS ARE INCLUDED IN THE WATCH: BAILEY...LAMB...HALE...FLOYD... MOTLEY...COCHRAN...HOCKLEY...LUBBOCK...CROSBY...DICKENS... YOAKUM...TERRY...LYNN...GARZA AND KENT... AT 530 PM CDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS HAD DEVELOPED RAPIDLY OVER THE WESTERN HALF OF THE SOUTH PLAINS. THE STRONGEST STORM ON THE SOUTH PLAINS WAS LOCATED ABOUT 9 MILES EAST OF BROWNFIELD IN EXTREME EASTERN TERRY COUNTY.
