112 PM EST TUE JUL 14 1992

A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 800 PM EST FOR MOST OF NORTHERN
AND CENTRAL INDIANA. THIS WATCH INCLUDES THAT PART OF INDIANA... NORTH
OF A LINE FROM 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF TERRE HAUTE TO 10 MILES SOUTH OF
PORTLAND.

AT 109 PM EST NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR WAS SHOWING STRONG THUNDER-
STORMS MOVING INTO NORTHWEST INDIANA FROM NEAR SOUTH BEND AND EXTENDING
SOUTHWEST INTO EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS NEAR DANVILLE. THESE THUNDERSTORMS
WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 40 MILES AN HOUR.

THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE OCCURRING IN A SHORT LINE FROM NEAR FOWLER
...25 MILES NORTHWEST OF LAFAYETTE TO 35 MILES WEST OF LAFAYETTE ON THE
INDIANA AND ILLINOIS BORDER. THIS LINE OF STORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE VERY
HEAVY RAINFALL...SMALL HAIL...STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING
AS IT MOVES THROUGH BENTON AND WARREN COUNTIES OF NORTHWEST INDIANA
BETWEEN 110 PM AND 130 PM EST.

AND HOUR WHILE BOTH LINES WERE GRADUALLY SAGGING TO THE SOUTHEAST
AT 15 MILES AN HOUR.
