FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI
 
   ...HANCOCK COUNTY...WESTERN HARRISON COUNTY
 
A THUNDERSTORM COMPLEX HAS BEEN MOVING SLOWLY NORTHWARD OVER HANCOCK
AND WESTERN HARRISON COUNTIES OF SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI FOR THE PAST
THREE HOURS. RAINFALLS OF 3 TO 4 INCHES ARE ESTIMATED TO HAVE OCCURRED
OVER SOUTHERN HANCOCK COUNTY. AN ADDITIONAL 2 OR 3 INCHES OF RAIN MAY
OCCUR IN PARTS OF HANCOCK AND WESTERN HARRISON COUNTIES BEFORE THE
THUNDERSTORMS SLACKEN AROUND 9 PM CST.
 
ALSO...SOUTHERLY WINDS ARE CAUSING TIDES TO BE ABOVE NORMAL AND THIS
WILL IMPEDE RUNOFF OF RAIN-WATER CAUSING PONDING AND FLOODING OF LOW-
LYING AREAS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT.  IT'S
IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS SHOULD
AVOID CAMPING ALONG STREAMS OR CREEKS DURING THREATENING RAINS.
