AT 920 AM CDT...SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED FROM NEAR THE AUSTIN AREA...SOUTHWEST TO BANDERA AND HELOTES...TO NEAR UVALDE AND EXTENDING ACROSS EAST MAVERICK COUNTY. ANOTHER STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS JUST NORTH OF GONZALES. MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS WAS TO THE EAST AT LESS THAN 10 MPH. PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN...GUSTY WINDS AND OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING CAN BE EXPECTED FROM THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS. DUE TO THE SLOW MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS...LOCALLY HEAVY AMOUNTS OF RAIN IN EXCESS OF TWO INCHES ARE POSSIBLE. EARLIER THIS MORNING...A STORM PRODUCED OVER FIVE INCHES OF RAIN IN THE CITY OF BURNET WHICH IS NORTH OF AUSTIN. AT 1115 AM CDT...SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS STRETCHED ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS AND THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY...FROM NEAR SAN MARCOS TO BOERNE TO GARNER STATE PARK...AND FROM BETWEEN BRACKETTVILLE AND UVALDE TO NORTH OF EAGLE PASS. MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS WAS SLOWLY TO THE EAST. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING ALONG A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT THAT WAS LOCATED FROM JUST SOUTH OF AUSTIN TO NEAR DEL RIO. LOCALLY HEAVY AMOUNTS OF RAINFALL ARE LIKELY AS THE STORMS ARE MOVING SLOWLY. UTOPIA IN NORTHEAST UVALDE COUNTY REPORTED OVER AN INCH OF RAIN ALREADY AND OTHER LOCATIONS COULD RECEIVE AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF TWO INCHES DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. FLOODING OF LOW-LYING AREAS AND LOW-WATER CROSSINGS IS POSSIBLE AND MOTORISTS ARE REMINDED NOT TO ATTEMPT TO DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. ALSO PRONE TO FLOODING ARE LOW AREAS NEAR STREAMS AND CREEKS WHICH CAN FLOOD QUICKLY UNDER HEAVY AND PERSISTENT RAINS. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD REMAIN ESPECIALLY ALERT TO HEAVY RAINS AND POSSIBLE RISING WATERS. OTHER SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE FURTHER EAST FROM NEAR GONZALES TO EAST OF KENEDY TO NEAR BEEVILLE.
