NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY 450 PM EST SAT MAR 2 1991 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 600 PM EST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING NEW YORK COUNTIES... CATTARAUAGUS ERIE AND ADJACENT WATERS AT 440 PM BUFFALO RADAR DETECTED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOM SILVER CREEK TO NEAR GOWANDA. THE ACTIVITY WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 TO 40 MPH. HAIL HAS BEEN REPORTED WITH THESE STORMS AS THNEY CROSSED NORTHEAST OHIO AND PENNSYLVANIA. BE ON THE ALERT FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY FREQUENT LIGHTNING.. STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL. AT 330PM A BROKEN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAD MOVED INTO FAR NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA...EXTREME NORTHEAST OHIO AND THE ADJACENT WATERS OF LAKE ERIE. THE ACTIVITY COVERED ASHTABULA COUNTY OHIO AS WELL AS CRAWFORD AND ERIE COUNTIES IN PENNSYLVANIA. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT STORM WAS JUST NORTH OF ANDOVER OHIO.
