000 TTAA00 KRDU 032340 SVRRDU NCC069-127-040045- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RALEIGH NC 739 PM EDT SUN JUN 3 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 845 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA ...SOUTHERN FRANKLIN COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA ...NASH COUNTY AT 738 RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM EXITING EASTERN WAKE COUNTY AND MOVING INTO SOUTHERN FRANKLIN AND WESTERN NASH COUNTY. THIS CLUSTER OF STORMS PRODUCED DAMAGE TO HOUSES, GOLF BALL SIZE HAIL AND BLEW DOWN NUMEROUS TREES IN WAKE AND DURHAM COUNTIES. PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM SHOULD BE ALERT FOR LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN CAN OCCUR WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM.

THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH. THIS MOVEMENT WILL TAKE IT INTO NORTHERN EDGECOMBE AND SOUTHERN HALIFAX COUNTIES BY 7PM THIS EVENING. OTHER THUNDERSTORMS WERE OCCURRING OVER THE NORTHWEST PIEDMONT. THESE STORMS WILL MOVE INTO THE NORTHEAST PIEDMONT BY 7 PM THIS EVENING. THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTH CAROLINA THIS EVENING. ADDITIONAL STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS WILL BE ISSUED AS NEEDED. JBP
