000 TTAA00 KPIT 092229 FFWPIT PAC005-100200- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PITTSBURGH PA 629 PM EDT MON JUL 9 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 PM EDT FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN WEST PENNSYLVANIA ...ARMSTRONG COUNTY THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR ARMSTRONG COUNTY HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 10 PM THIS EVENING. NUMEROUS STREAMS AND CREEKS ARE OUT OF THEIR BANKS...AS WELL AS NUMEROUS ROADWAYS ARE FLOODED PARTICULARLY IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS. THE SHREPP BRIDGE HAS BEEN WASHED AWAY...AND THE WATER IS UP TO THE SECOND RAILING ON THE MOSGROVE BRIDGE. THESE ARE LOCATED IN THE NORTH CENTRAL PART OF THE COUNTY. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT. IT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS. CAMPERS SHOULD AVOID CAMPING ALONG STREAMS OR fCREEKS DURING THREATENING RAINS. MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
