SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND SPECIAL MARINE WARNING

FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA
 
   ...DARE COUNTY
 
  AND FOR PAMLICO SOUND AND THE COASTAL WATERS FROM DUCK TO SALVO.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER OREGON INLET HAS PRODUCED HAIL THE SIZE OF A
HALF DOLLAR. OTHER THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER DARE COUNTY AND A
FUNNEL CLOUD WAS REPORTED AT STUMPY POINT AT 525PM.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WINDS CAN REACH SPEEDS OF 60 MPH TO OVER 100
MPH. THESE WINDS BLOW DOWN TREES...POWER LINES...AND SEVERELY
DAMAGE MOBILE HOMES...SOMETIMES BUILDINGS. VERY LARGE HAIL CAN
INJURE ANYONE CAUGHT OUTSIDE.
