IN NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI ...SOUTHWESTERN MONROE COUNTY AT 535 PM CDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 6 MILES SOUTHWEST OF ABERDEEN IN MONROE COUNTY. THIS STORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST A 25 MPH. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED 10 MILES NORTH OF RIPLEY IN TIPPAH COUNTY...NEAR TISHOMINGO IN TISHOMINGO COUNTY...7 MILES WEST OF AMORY IN MONROE COUNTY AND NEAR WEST POINT IN CLAY COUNTY. THESE STORMS WILL PRODUCE VERY HEAVY RAIN...STRONG GUSTY WIND IN THE 40 TO 50 MPH RANGE...FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES AND HAIL AS THE MOVE SOUTHEAST ACORSS NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI THIS AFTERNOON.
