THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE
UNTIL 1000 AM EST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES

   IN THE SOUTHEAST PART OF KENTUCKY
      JACKSON...LEE...BELL...KNOX

AT 530 AM EST...FLOODING WAS OCCURRING ACROSS JACKSON...LEE...BELL
AND KNOX COUNTIES AND THE RAIN CONTINUED TO FALL. THE HEAVIEST RAIN
WAS IN BELL COUNTY AND LIGHT RAIN WAS FALLING OVER THE REST OF THE
REGION. RUNOFF FROM THE LARGE AMOUNT OF RAIN WILL CAUSE STREAMS AND
RIVERS TO CONTINUE TO RISE THIS MORNING.

IF YOU LIVE IN A FLOOD PRONE AREA...YOU SHOULD MONITOR WATER LEVELS
CLOSLY AND BE READY TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IF RISING WATER IS
OBSERVED.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN
AUTOMOBILES...SO DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER
COVERS THE ROAD.

NEVER ATTEMPT TO CROSS A FLOODING STREAM ON FOOT...EVEN A SMALL ONE.
