THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 AM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI
          ...ADAMS...AMITE...FRANKLIN...LINCOLN...WILKINSON
 
AT 1045 PM...HEAVY RAINS PERSIST OVER MOST OF SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI
AND INTENSITIES APPEAR TO BE INCREASING EVEN MORE. AN ADDITIONAL
TWO TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN HAS LIKELY FALLEN SINCE 7PM IN THE ABOVE
COUNTIES AND ANOTHER 1 TO 2 INCHES MAY FALL IN THE NEXT 2 HOURS.
 
REMEMBER DIRT AND GRAVEL ROADS ARE ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE TO WASHING
OUT AND WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT TO SPOT AT NIGHT. PLEASE AVOID
TRAVELLING THROUGH FLOODED AREAS. MOST DEATHS OCCUR WHEN CARS
ARE SET AFLOAT BY SWIFTLY MOVING WATERS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE SWIFTLY TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.
