FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND ISLAND NE
1154 AM CDT WED JUL 25 1990

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 300 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL PART OF NEBRASKA
      EASTERN CLAY...NORTHWEST FILLMORE

AT 1130 AM CDT WEDNESDAY FLASH FLOODING WAS REPORTED BY SUTTON
NEBRASKA CIVIL DEFENSE AT SCHOOL CREEK.
SCHOOL CREEK WAS BANKFULL AND SOME FLOODING AS OCCURING IN THE
CITY PARK.
TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAD BEEN OBSERVED AT SUTTON AND RADAR SHOWED
HEAVY RAIN ONCE AGAIN MOVING INTO THE AREA.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLASH FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS
BEEN REPORTED.  RESIDENTS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS BY FOOT OR AUTO.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE OVER A ROAD COVERED BY WATER.  THE ROAD
COULD BE WASHED OUT UNDER THE WATER OR YOUR CAR COULD BE SWEEP
AWAY IF THE WATER IS FLOWING SWIFTLY.
