THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX ARIZONA HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  700 AM MST
FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN NORTHEAST ARIZONA

   ...THE RIO PUERCO IN APACHE AND NAVAJO COUNTIES

HEAVY RAINS IN THE EARLY EVENING IN NORTHWEST NEW MEXICO HAVE PRODUCED
A LARGE VOLUME OF WATER IN THE RIO PUERCO. THIS LARGE VOLUME OF WATER
WILL MOVE DOWNSTREAM TO THE CONFLUENCE WITH THE LITTLE COLORADO RIVER
EAST OF HOLBROOK ABOUT EARLY MORNING. THE VOLUME OF THIS FLOW WILL
SLOWLY DECREASE AS IT MOVES DOWNSTREAM AND SHOULD NOT POSE A MAJOR
FLOOD THREAT TO CITIES ALONG THE LITTLE COLORADO RIVER SATURDAY
MORNING.

FLASH FLOODING IS ALREADY HAPPENING. PERSONS SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THE
RIVER. THIS IS A DANGEROUS FLOOD IN THE UPPER REACHES OF THE RIO
PUERCO THIS EVENING.
