000 TTAA00 KCHA 100057 SVRCHA GAC295-100200- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHATTANOOGA TENNESSEE 857 PM EDT THU AUG 9 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHATTANOOGA TENNESSEE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA ...SOUTHERN WALKER COUNTY AT 855 PM EDT...THE CHATTANOOGA WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM JUST TO THE EAST OF LAFAYETTE IN WALKER COUNTY. THE STORM IS MOVING SLOWLY TO THE SOUTH. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER... PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
