THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  230 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN SOUTH TEXAS
          ...ZAVALA
 
VERY HEAVY RAINS HAVE PERSISTED IN ZAVALA COUNTIES DURING THE MORNING
HOURS AND THE LATEST RADAR INDICATED THAT HEAVY RAINS WILL CONTINUE IN
THE AREA AT LEAST FOR THE NEXT TWO OR THREES HOURS.
 
ALL SECONDARY ROADS ARE FLOODED WITH MANY STALLED CARS.  UP TO FIVE
INCHES OF RAIN HAVE BEEN REPORTED DURING THE MORNING.  SOME HOMES HAVE
BEEN FLOODED AND SOME PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD TO EVACUATE ARE BEING
SHELTERED IN CRYSTAL CITY.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN
REPORTED.
 
REMEMBER...DEATHS DURING FLASH FLOODING ARE FREQUENTLY RELATED TO
MOTORISTS DRIVING INTO FLOODED LOW WATER CROSSINGS OR FROM CHILDREN
PLAYING NEAR FLOODED STREAMS OR DRAINAGE AREAS.
