THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1145 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE WEST CENTRAL PART OF MISSOURI
      SOUTHERN JACKSON...

   IN THE EAST CENTRAL PART OF KANSAS
      JOHNSON...

AT 1030 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER
JOHNSON COUNTY KANSAS...NEAR EDGERTON...30 MILES SOUTHWEST
OF DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY.  A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS ALSO
INDICATED OVER EXTREME SOUTHWEST JACKSON COUNTY MISSOURI.
THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST-NORTHEAST AT 15 TO 20 MILES
AN HOUR.

IF YOU ARE IN AN AREA THREATENED BY THE STORM...GO TO A REINFORCED
SHELTER AND PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...AND VERY HEAVY
RAIN.

HEAVY RAINS WILL QUICKLY FLOOD SMALL STREAMS AND LOW LYING# AREAS.
