THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 215 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES

   IN THE CENTRAL PART OF IOWA
      NORTHERN POWESHIEK...SOUTHERN TAMA

AT 120 AM CDT...RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR
GRINNELL OR 50 MILES NORTHEAST OF DES MOINES IN CENTRAL IOWA.

THE STORM HAD DEVELOPED RAPIDLY SINCE MIDNIGHT...AND IS CAPABLE
OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL AND WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MILES AN
HOUR.
PEOPLE IN THE CITIES OF GRINNELL...BROOKLYN...TAMA...TOLEDO AND
HAVEN SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY IF
SEVERE WEATHER THREATEN YOUR AREA.

THE STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR.

REMEMBER...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MILES
AN HOUR...LARGE HAIL...DANGEROUS LIGeHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAINS.
