THUNDERSTORMS FROM ASTABULA OHIO TO AKRON OHIO TO COLUMBUS OHIO.
THIS LINE IS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 45 MPH.
NUMERIOUS TREES AND POWER OUTAGES HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE CITY OF
MEDINA OHIO WITH THE PASSAGE OF THIS LINE.

OHZALL-030100- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CLEVELAND OH 612 PM EDT SUN JUN 3 1990 A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL BUT EXTREME SOUTHEAST OHIO UNTIL 11 PM EDT. AT 600 PM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS FROM THE MARBLEHEAD AREA TO EAST OF FINDLAY TO LOGAN AND CHAMPAIGN COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL OHIO. THESE STORMS HAVE BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR VERY STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS... HEAVY RAINS... AND FREQUENT LIGHTENING. AS THE STORMS PASSED THROUGH THE TOLEDO AREA MANY TREES AND POWER LINES WERE DOWNED. IT HAS BEEN REPORTED THAT 8 TO 10 THOUSAND HOMES WERE WITHOUT POWER. THERE HAS BEEN AN UNCONFIRMED REPORT OF 2 DEAD IN THE TOLEDO AREA WHERE A TREE FELL ON A MINIVAN. THE LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING TO THE EAST AT 40 TO 45 MILES AN HOUR. THESE THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD BE ENTERING WESTERN CLEVELAND AT SHORTLY AFTER 630 PM IF THEY CONTINUE AT THEIR CURRENT SPEED.
