THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BURLINGTON VT HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  345 PM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...

IN NORTHWEST VERMONT
          ...CHITTENDEN

RED CROSS SPOTTERS REPORTED AN ICE JAM ON THE WINOOSKI RIVER JUST
SOUTH OF NORTH WILLISTON ROAD. ALSO...ALL SMALL STREAMS FEEDING INTO
THE WINOOSKI ARE OVER THEIR BANKS AND CAUSING FIELD FLOODING. THERE
IS THE POTENTIAL FOR BRIDGE DAMAGE IN THIS AREA.

THE RED CROSS ALSO REPORTS THAT THE LAMOILLE RIVER IN MILTON IS OVER
ITS BANKS NEAR ROUTE 7...AND IS WITHIN 1 FOOT OF THE WEST MILTON ROAD
BRIDGE.


A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
