THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BURLINGTON VT HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 AM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...

IN SOUTHWEST VERMONT
          ...BENNINGTON
IN NORTHEAST VERMONT
          ...CALEDONIA

FLOODING CONTIUNED EARLY THIS MORNING IN CALEDONIA AND BENNINGTON
COUNTIES AND WARNINGS HAVE BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 1000 AM.

IN CALEDONIA COUNTY THE WATER FROM THE MOOSE...PASSUMPSIC AND MILLERS
RUN WAS CAUSING PROBLEMS ON ROUTES 122 NEAR THE COVERED BRIDGE IN
LYNDONVILLE...ROUTE 5 IN ST JOHNSBURY CENTER AND ON ROUTE 2 IN EAST ST
JOHNSBURY. ALL THREE OF THESE STREAMS SHOULD RECEEDE THIS MORNING AS
RUNOFF SLOWS.

IN BENNINGTON COUNTY THE BATTEN KILL RIVER WAS OVER IT/S BANKS ON
ROUTE 313 IN WEST ARLINGTON. THE WALLOOMSAC WAS ALSO RUNNING VERY HIGH
AND WAS CLOSE TO THE HIGHWAYS IN AREAS AROUND BENNINGTON.


DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
